Full Effect Entertainment Theatrical Dance Company

Make your business the STOP of the streets

Full Effect Dance Theatre has been successful at winning over fans across the world and now we want our talent to help your business attract fans (customers). Early this month, six of their most accomplished dancers performed on the streets of Bronzeville for the Rosenwald Commons Community Land Trust initiative and garnered much attention to their cause as well as neighboring businesses'. "The music stopped me, and before i knew it, i was asking one of the dancers who did her hair. She smiled and said, I got it done right here, pointing at a salon which I had never noticed until today" said Jasmine Oakley of Bronzeville.

Full Effect Dance Theatre produced four dance numbers performed to a creative mixture of Ragtime and Jazz with upbeat contemporary Hip-Hop. The choreography was skillfully set out to incorporate Swing dance with intricate Hip Hop movement, bouncing from one to the other at the flash of an eye. The dancer's costumes were just as loyal to the roaring twenties era as their flashy dance moves. The ladies were dressed in flapper dresses with feathered head dresses and the fellow's polyester suits were complemented with hats stylishly tipped on one side. As FEDT transitioned from one musical number to the other, the theatrical performers improvised by "socializing" with one another in a dialect most commonly used at that time (which each had to study diligently). "I have just witnessed a cultural phenomenon", said a spectator commenting on Full Effect's portrayal of the Chicagoans who resided in the area eighty years ago. He had been questioned just after the dancers finished their third Hip Hop/Jitterbug number. The troupe won the admiration of hundreds of Bronzeville pedestrians and business owners the same. The owner of Ken-Sep-Shon beauty salon made his self a proud sponsor of FEETDCo on that very day by providing the music source and other equipment to Full Effect's exhibition. "They are like an entertaining corridor to our past..." remarked Steve Collins, a patron of one of the neighboring stores.
