Full Effect Entertainment Theatrical Dance Company

zcWho said going to the ER was a bad thing?

Episodes of Rhythm (ER) is a theatrical dance stage production written by Dane A. Campbell, produced by Full Effect Dance Theatre. It is our sixth one of its kind, but unique all the same. This will be the company’s first concert that incorporates the projector screen throughout the one-hour show, bringing more dramatization to the company’s episodic repertoire. It will be held July 11th at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts (777 N Green St.) at 7 pm sharp.

The show has three major scenes (episodes), and three sub-scenes (episode-interludes). The cast of Full Effect Dance Theatre assumes different comedic characters throughout the show (from episode to episode). The show will involve more props and intricate staging than any other of the company’s works. To view the Episodes of Rhythm (ER) promo click here.

Be prepared to take or be taken on a journey from a Circus that has the tendency to make fatal mistakes with audience participants, to a an old smoky saloon with brown collared men and rhythmic townswomen that dance, drink, and fight, and then finally to a public counseling session of a millionaire couple experiencing marital issues stemming from their secret lifestyles, we promise you, you will be caught in the crossfire. Your path detours a few times as you make wrong turns into infidelity, Motown, and political appreciation.

The Press Release

In 2003, seven dancers put on a one and a half hour show titled, Full Effect World. It was a collection of pieces choreographed by Dane A Campbell that Full Effect Entertainment was touring over the past year with the addition of new material and on Friday, May 23, 2003, Full Effect put on their first concert to a packed house at the DuSable Museum of African American Art.

Campbell admits that the initial purpose of the show was for exhibition alone and not fundraising. “It can be proven by the profit made…$330,” he laughs, returning from a nostalgic trance.

As the next two years passed and Full Effect’s concerts grew from a one day event to a 3 night event, the ensemble started seeing the potential revenue that these big shows can generate. Today the Artistic Director of FEETDCo holds that their theatrical dance concerts serves two purposes, to expose Chicago to the only artwork of its kind, and to raise funds for the company.

“It’s a night where all my dancers feel the fabric of stardom, no matter who they are. It’s a night where our fans are well fed with platters of our artistry all in one sitting. It’s the night where we are confronted with the love of the people who support us and admire us up close and personal. And what’s profited from just that night, will be earnings treated as a donation for what’s next to come…the continued legacy of our theatrical dance aesthetic”

-Dane A Campbell

FEETDCo strives to attract support of sponsors and donators daily. When we have productions such as Episodes of Rhythm the proceeds are reinvested back in the company to fund more arts programming and upcoming events.
