Cash prizes will be awarded the day after the show to ensure that our contestants adhere to all of the guidelines of the competition up through the end of the show and periods after the show.
Rules
This competition only allows 5 dancers to be on stage. A team has the creative liberty to work those five dancers in any format. During the five minute presentation, teams can utilize one dancer, two, and so forth at a time, but no more than the five registered dancers are allowed on stage. So for instance, you cannot use a sixth person for a skit, or to hold up a prop. ONLY THE FIVE PERFORMERS ARE ALLOWED ON STAGE! Your team will be disqualified if this rule is not adhered to.
There is no theme requirement.

 

Registration
An act interested in participation must pay a $50 non-refundable registration fee, read the terms and guidelines packet, and sign the contract. At that point, the act will receive their assigned tickets and will then be added to the roster of acts.
Contestants are required to email their music to FEETDCo no later Friday March 5th but must still have their music on a CD and readily available as a backup copy on the day of the show.
Time limit
Every act is allowed a maximum time limit of 5 minutes to perform. A point will be deducted for every second beyond the time limit. Any act over ten seconds may have their performance music cut. The time limit of your performance will be determined by the reading on the music file your team emailed. If it reads 5:07, even if your show ends at 5:00, you will receive a 7-point deduction. So be sure that your music file or CD reflects the exact duration of your performance. Please be advised that teams do not have to perform for the entire five minutes. FEETDCo suggests that show duration should not fall below 3 and a half minutes.
Ticket Sales Requirement
All acts must sell two tickets at $12 each for every performer on the stage (a minimum of ten tickets in total). Failure to sell the minimum required tickets will result in your act forfeiting its right to perform in the competition.  Acts are encouraged to sell as many tickets as possible to gain crowd support.
The proceeds from the ticket sales must be submitted in cash, along with the performance roster no later than Friday, March 1, 2012 8PM sharp at any of our 3 convenient locations: Kennicott Park 4435 S. Lake Park, Loyola Park 1230 W. Greenleaf, and Austin Town Hall 5610 W Lake St.
Technical and Dress rehearsal
On the day of the show, contestants in Premier Dance Coalition’s Icon-Movie Challenge will be required to attend the afternoon tech rehearsal. The tech rehearsal will allow for the act to negotiate lighting cues and block their show on stage.  It is strongly suggested that the entire act is present for the tech rehearsal.
All teams are scheduled to arrive by 4PM for check-in. Tech rehearsal begins at 4:30PM sharp. Each team will be given an equal share of time to tech on stage directly proportionate to the amount of acts in the show divided by 2 hours (eg. 4:30PM-6:30PM/8 teams = 15 minutes each team). More time will be evenly distributed to all acts if a team fails to show up to their tech.
Failure to check-in by 5:30PM will result in a 10-point deduction. There will be an additional 10-point deduction for every 30 minutes of tardiness on your team’s behalf.

Behavior
Fighting of any kind will lead to arrest and disqualification of any and all associated acts involved in it. Acts must maintain an extreme level of professionalism. Any fighting or disruptive hostile behavior performed by any of the contestants will lead to the forfeiture of any all cash awards.
*Reminder cash awards will not be given until the following day 3/4/12. A check made payable to the team or leader will be given to out-of-town teams on the day of the show. Contestants must communicate their status (out-of-town or city team) upon contract signing.

Are you a college team outside of Chicago? Relax, you can pay your registration fee(s) using a major credit/debit card, click below! There is a a $2.50 shipping and handling surchage for the mailing of the contract and tickets. So for one team you must pay $52.50 (If after February 1, 2012, $27.50, if before).
