McCURRY SHERMAN

 

Born in New Wark, New Jersey raised mainly in NYC McCurry showed interest for the arts at a very young age. Introduced to music first from singing in church choirs to eventually performing solo at different churches gave him his first taste of fame and the feeling of being a performer. This eventually led to him to hone his vocal craft and started to take interest in writing lyrics for himself. Upon entering New Rochelle high school, he auditioned to be a vocal performance major and was accepted into the performing arts program. One of his highlight performances was when the mix chorale got to perform in the legendary Lincoln Center in Manhattan, NY.

Now currently residing in Chicago, McCurry has obtained a B.A. from Columbia College in Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management and has shifted gears from aspiring vocalist to choreographer/artist development. In his freshman year at Columbia, McCurry was blessed with the opportunity to produce his own talent showcase which gave him great experience on how to develop talent. He has also been taking the dance world by storm performing/training with well known dance companies in the city (Deeply Rooted Productions, AKDT, Hip Hop ConneXion Chicago) and with some well-known choreographers/teachers such as Shell Benjamin, Malik Camara, Andrea Kelly, Kevin Iega Jeff, Gary Abott, Lisa Johnson-Willingham, and Trae Turner just to name a few. Acting is also not to far from his reach as he hopes to establish a career in that field as well.
With God at the forefront of his life and surrounding himself with positive and influential individuals, there is no telling where or how far his journey through the entertainment world will last.
