The Fav 5 Is Back

 

 

On March 3rd 2012 FEETDCo will be hosting their Fav 5 dance competition. Each dance group is encouraged to submit 5 of their best dancers to go head to head for the title of Chicago's Fav 5. This highly anticipated competition will be held at the Portage Theater located at 4050 N. Milwaukee in Chicago, IL.

On December 10th Premier Dance Coalition hosting FEETDCo's second Icon Dance Challenge. The hottest teams in Chicago went head to head, as they performed their dance rendition of their favorite movie. The 5th FEETDCo Performer Awards

The night of elegance, high fashion, and award winning performances were all captured at the 5th Annual FEETDCo Performer Awards (FPAs) which was held at the Little Black Pearl Atrium Sunday June, 19th 2011. The packed event held on Father’s Day, turned out to be another successful production for Chicago’s leading urban dance company, contrary to skeptics belief that an event held on a holiday would prove to be a flop. FEETDCo fans came out and showed out on the red carpet to have their photographs captured before being wined and dined and then entertained by 7 FEETDCo performances. Click here to see a clip.

New titles were crowned and the dance floor shook when all six divisions individually displayed exciting new pieces before their most loved fans. To get a snap shot of the performances click here. DDC is back!

 

 

 

The Dynamic Dance Collaborative of FEETDCo is the company's college 2nd Comoany division station on the campus of Northern Illinois University. Their 2010-2011 was filled with success as they put on a dance rendition of the movie "Salt" and snagged a 1st Place win at the Phlip the Script Dance Competition last Fall and won an unprecedented four round competition (placing 1st in every round) in the Spring of 2011 at The Face-Off 3 Competition, which featured all of the top dance teams from the college. Newly promoted Principal Company Officer, Shequita Gulley, winner of the Top Female of DDC FPA 2011, now leads the team has every intention on continuing their success.

H2O is launchedI

 

 

 

In January of 2011, FEETDCo gave birth to their 5th 2nd company division, the Hard to Obtain (H2O) Dance Directive. H2O services dancers of all skill levels on Chicago's north side.

H2O headlined a fashion show in April of this year, showing the world how the north side gets it done! Jerome Taylor is the newly appointed Principal Company Officer of H2O.

 

 

 

 

 

Dane A Campbell crowned Choreographer of the Year!

On Friday, December 18, 2009 at a private reception for a selected group of choreographers who displayed notable works at this year's Dance Chicago festival, Dane A Campbell was awarded the 2009 Dance Chicago Choreographer of the Year Award. In an impromptu speech given before a little under two dozen guests the Artistic Director and founder of FEETDCo said, "...though I am given this award, I will say that my contribution was merely the skeleton, it was my dancers who fleshed it out and pumped the blood through my creative movement and without them, I wouldn't be standing here..." click here to see his acceptance speech and footage of the company's performances at Dance Chicago.

 

Full Effect live in concert at Navy Pier

The Full Effect Dance Theatre and the FootworKINGz collaborated for the holidays to bring joy and entertainment to Navy Pier's Winter Wonderfest on New Years Eve! This hour long concert was free to the public! Full Effect performed 3 of your favorite theatrical Hip Hop pieces including, "Be Our Guest", "Jook Joint", and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith"! Total Domination stopped through to bring you Holiday cheer with their 1st Place winning "TD Hillbillies Show"! Video will be available soon.

 

Full Effect Dance Theatre gets rave reviews from the Chicago Sun-Times

Since 2005, Full Effect has turned heads at the Dance Chicago festivals performing ground-breaking pieces on various nights. This year, the company was asked by John Schmitz, Artisic Director of Dance Chicago, to performan unprecedented four times including the festival's15th year anniversary opening night, Jazz Cabaret, Choreographer's Night, and the grand finale. From MTV to BET!!!!

FEETDCo puts another notch under its belt as members Jayce Burns and Michael Grey (former Americas Best Dance Crew Contestants as posted in the photo to the right) hold the title of 106 and Park's "Wild Out Wednesdays" champions. The duo boarded a plane to New York to compete under Michel Grey's hip hop dance team "Versatile"! With their newly acquired title and the $5000 Grand Prize, its no wonder why FEETDCo is insuperable! FEETDCo Brings Culture to the Corners of Bronzeville

Full Effect Dance Theatre has been successful at winning over fans across the world and now we want our talent to help your business attract fans (customers). Early this month, six of their most accomplished dancers performed on the streets of Bronzeville for the Rosenwald Commons Community Land Trust initiative and garnered much attention to their cause as well as neighboring businesses'. "The music stopped me, and before i knew it, i was asking one of the dancers who did her hair. She smiled and said, I got it done right here, pointing at a salon which I had never noticed until today" said Jasmine Oakley of Bronzeville. To learn more click here.
